All set for seventh Faldo Series Czech Championship

11 July 2017

11 July 2017: The Faldo Series returns to Dyskina on July 14th for the seventh Faldo Series Czech Championship with more than 80 young players expected to compete. Greensgate Golf and Leisure Resort will play host for the second time as the promising talent in the Czech Republic is again provided opportunity.

The Czech Republic has a proud tradition in the Faldo Series and boasts the current Faldo Series Grand Final Champion Jiri Zuska. Zuska’s success in the Czech Championship has afforded him the chance to travel around in the world with trips to the UK and Vietnam for the European Grand Final and Asia Grand Final respectively. No doubt Zuska will be a great source of inspiration for the class of 2017.

“We’re thrilled at the pace of golf development in the Czech Republic.” said Sir Nick Faldo. “It’s very pleasing to witness up close the wonderful talent on display and the great strides the players are making in the region. It’s a privilege to give a platform for these young talents to show what they can do. I must thank the hosts Greensgate for their support to our development efforts to grow golf in the Czech Republic.”

With World Amateur Golf Ranking points on offer, golfers aged 12 to 21 will compete over three rounds in the seventh Faldo Series Czech Championship on July 14-16 2017. Off the course the players will benefit from time with Faldo’s personal coach Keith Wood. Keith will assist the players and conduct clinics for the duration of the week.

The field of boys and girls aged 12 to 21 will be divided into five age groups – three for boys and two for girls – with the winners of each division joining Sir Nick Faldo at the twenty-first Faldo Series Grand Final, to be hosted by the six-time Major Champion.

Today, 40 Faldo Series tournaments take place in 30-plus countries worldwide, touching thousands of golfers each year. Past winners include Major Champions Tseng Ya-ni and Rory McIlroy, who took his tally of professional Major titles to four with his wins at the 2014 Open Championship and US PGA Championship.
