Pilsen, Czech Republic (July 31): The Faldo Series Czech Championship will return to Greensgate Golf & Leisure Resort on August 2-4th. 90 of the best young golfers in the region will battle it out for a chance to play in the 22nd Faldo Series Grand Final.

“We hope to build on last year and grow the event to benefit more young golfers,” commented Martina Tvarůžková, General Manager of Greensgate. “To host this prestigious tournament for young Czech players and provide them the opportunity to compete at the highest level is something we’re proud of.”

Greensgate Resort offers a fine test for the 90 individuals expected to hit the course. Designed by renowned German architect Christoph Städler the tree lined course with multiple water hazards and big elevation changes keep the golfers on their toes. The club has been an official venue of the Ladies European Tour and hosted various prestigious tournaments.

The Czech players have a great reputation to uphold in the Faldo Series. Simon Zach and Jiri Zuska played in the Faldo Series very successfully and have made their mark on the amateur game across Europe and beyond with good performances this summer. Krystof Rucka claimed the Boys’ Under-16 division in the 2017 edition of the Czech Championship and will be amongst the favourites this week.

The tournament will be played over three rounds and is a World Amateur Golf Ranking event. The field will be divided into five age-groups and the winners of each division will join Sir Nick Faldo at the season-ending 22nd Faldo Series Europe Grand Final – to be held at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club (AESGC) in the United Arab Emirates. AESGC boasts a superb course and immaculate facilities in the Oasis city of Al Ain.

Today, 40 Faldo Series tournaments take place in 30-plus countries worldwide, touching thousands of golfers each year. Past winners include Major Champions Tseng Ya-ni and Rory McIlroy, who took his tally of professional Major titles to four with his wins at the 2014 Open Championship and US PGA Championship
