8 May 2014: Reigning Faldo Series Boys’ Champion Paul Kinnear will make his European Tour debut when he lines up in the Madeira Islands Open at Clube de Golf do Santo da Serra in Maderia, Portugal on May 8-11.

“I am thankful to Sir Nick and the European Tour for giving me this amazing opportunity to compete against some of the best players in the world,” said 20-year-old Kinnear from Lancashire in England. “My goal for the week is to simply enjoy every minute of it and learn as much as I can because opportunities like this don't come around very often for an amateur.”

Sir Nick Faldo arranged the invitation for the England international through the European Tour, which lends its support to the six-time Major winner’s global golf development programme.

“I’d like to thank Clube de Golf do Santo da Serra and the European Tour for supporting golf development through the Faldo Series and for giving our Champion this unique opportunity,” said Faldo.  “Paul has finished first and second in the Boy’s division at our last two finals and I am sure he will benefit greatly from this experience.”

Kinnear won the 2013 Faldo Series Boys’ title at The Greenbrier in West Virginia, USA last October by two shots and then went on to finish second in the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final at Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen, China in March.
