Faldo Series announces dates for Asia Grand Final
12 November 2012: Sir Nick Faldo has announced that he will host the seventh Faldo Series Asia Grand Final at Mission Hills Golf Club in China on March 13-15, 2013. The six-time Major Champion has hailed last year’s winners including 14-year-old Guan Tianlang who recently qualified for the 2013 Masters Tournament.
“Last March we saw Masamichi Ito of Japan claim his third Grand Final and Guan Tianlang, aged only 13, win the inaugural Mission Hills Trophy as the top finisher from China,” said Faldo who will once again spend time with the competitors and play with the winners. “Following a record schedule of 17 tournaments in 15 Asian countries, we look forward to once again providing a unique learning experience for the region’s best young golfers.”
“Mission Hills is proud to be a founding partner of the Faldo Series Asia which was launched in 2006 and last year we extended that partnership through to 2016,” commented Tenniel Chu, Vice Chairman of Mission Hills.
“It has always been Mission Hills’ vision to promote international goodwill through golf and youth golf development has always been central to that strategy,” added Chu. “We see the Faldo Series at Mission Hills as an excellent platform for young golfers to develop their game and Guan Tianlang, a winner at the Asia Grand Final earlier this year, and who has now qualified for the 2013 Masters, is a superb example of that.”
