Hot-shot Hsieh wins Faldo Series Chinese Taipei Championship

Taipei, Chinese Taipei (April 17): A brilliant opening-round birdie barrage set Hsieh Ting-wei on course for a stunning victory in the weather-hit opening leg of the Faldo Series Asia’s 11th season.

Thanks to two outstanding sub-par returns at Tsai Hsing Elite Club, Hsieh swept to a four-shot success in the Faldo Series Chinese Taipei Championship.

Hsieh, who turned 16 last month, made light of severe thunderstorms on the first two days which disrupted play and forced organisers to reduce the tournament from 54 holes to 36.

Glory for Williamson at Lough Erne

15 April 2016: Rory Williamson of Holywood Golf Club has won the Faldo Series Ireland Championship by a single shot on the Faldo Course. Williamson fired rounds of 71 & 69 to hold off the fierce challenges of Shane Mcdermott and Jamie Fletcher, who finished in joint second place overall.

Hilleard crushes top class field in Wales

14 April 2016: Josh Hilleard sauntered to victory in the Faldo Series Wales Championship by six shots at Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club. The 21-year-old Englishman was in fine form as he shot scores of 68, 69 & 72 to leave the field trailing in his wake. His reward is a place in the 20th Faldo Series Europe Grand Final. 

11th Faldo Series Asia Season primed for Taipei tee-off

Taipei, Chinese Taipei (April 13): National team stalwart Hung Jo-hua will aim to continue her rise to prominence when she defends her Faldo Series Chinese Taipei Championship title this week.

Hung scored a nail-biting victory on home soil last year and is seeking to repeat that success when the 54-hole event tees-off at the Tsai Hsing Elite Club. On the outskirts of Taipei, the course boasts panoramic views of the Taiwan Straits.

Lough Erne hosts Faldo Series Ireland Championship

05 April 2016: Defending champion Sean Doyle of Athlone will be among the top young Irish golfers competing in the ninth Faldo Series Ireland Championship on the world renowned Faldo Course at Lough Erne Resort in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland on April 12-13.

A field of more than 100 golfers aged 12 to 21 will compete in the Faldo Series Ireland Championship over two rounds on the Faldo Course. Other notable competitors include 19-year-old Ireland squad member Ted Collins (Dun Laoghaire) and Paddy Culhane (Galway G.c), both have previously appeared at Grand Finals.

Faldo Series appoints IJGA as Official Golf Academy Partner

April 4, 2016: The Faldo Series, the global circuit of junior events created by six-time Major winner Sir Nick Faldo, has appointed the International Junior Golf Academy (IJGA) as its Official Golf Academy Partner.

Rory McIlroy and fellow multiple Major champion and world number one, Tseng Ya-ni, are among past winners on the Faldo Series, which was founded in 1996 and is supported by The R&A (The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews).

Drive to grow Faldo Series Asia gathering pace

Singapore (April 4): Six-time Major champion Sir Nick Faldo has pledged to continue his drive to grow the Faldo Series Asia.

Ahead of the 11th season of the junior series that will be made up of a minimum of 21 events in 17 countries including, for the first time, two qualifiers in Thailand, Faldo said he is committed to further development.

To that end, Faldo is continuing to engage with many of golf’s most high-profile organisations.

Shenzhen, China (March 4): Arjun Prasad fired a breathtaking closing six-under-par 66 to claim a remarkable come-from-behind victory in the 10th Faldo Series Asia Grand Final. 

Four shots off the pace heading into the final round, the 17-year-old Indian produced a near-flawless performance over the acclaimed Faldo Course at Mission Hills Dongguan.

"It's been an amazing week – one that I'll remember for the rest of my life," said Prasad, who posted a 54-hole total of 10-under 206 in the R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking event.

Shenzhen, China (March 2): Arjun Prasad conjured a sensational turnaround to soar into contention on the opening day of the 10th Faldo Series Asia Grand Final.

Four-over-par through eight holes, the 17-year-old Indian’s prospects of challenging for glory over the Faldo Course at Mission Hills Dongguan appeared to have evaporated almost before they had begun.

Jakarta, Indonesia (January 11): Tirto Tamardi lived up to his billing as pre-tournament favourite with an assured victory in the ninth Faldo Series Indonesia Championship.

Thanks to a composed final-round display, Tamardi overcame concerted challenges from Stevanus Daniel Wirawan and Inez Beatrice Wanamarta to emerge triumphant over Damai Indah Golf's BSD Course in West Java.

With a 54-hole aggregate of three-under-par 213, Tamardi ended three shots clear of Wirawan and five in front of Wanamarta.
