A three-stroke winner last year, Putt enters the fray secure in the knowledge that however he may fare at Panorama Golf and Country Club he’s already assured a place in the ninth Faldo Series Asia Grand Final.

That’s thanks to the fact that the 16-year-old swept to victory in the Faldo Series Cambodia Championship in July, thus guaranteeing himself a return ticket to Mission Hills Shenzhen next March.

Kathmandu (December 11): Arun Tamang overturned a four-stroke overnight deficit to emerge triumphant in the third edition of the Faldo Series Nepal Championship.

A member of his country’s national squad, Tamang fired a closing 74 at Gokarana Forest Resort to clinch a notable victory.

With a 36-hole total of 151, Tamang finished three shots clear of second-placed Tanka Bahadur Karki, who appeared set for a successful title defence after posting an opening 73.

In-form Ashok targets Faldo Series India Girls’ Championship


Mumbai, India (December 9): Aditi Ashok will be aiming to underline her standing as one of Asia’s brightest female golfing prospects when she lines up in this week’s Faldo Series India Girls’ Championship.

The only Indian golfer (male or female) to have represented her country in the Asian Youth Games, Youth Olympic Games and Asian Games, the 16-year-old is already being widely tipped as a star of the future.

Alvarez takes the honours at inaugural Colombia Championship


5th December 2014: Felipe Alvarez blew away the field to win the inaugural Faldo Series Colombia Championship at Club Campestre La Sabana. The 16-year-old took a sizeable lead in to day two after an inspired 68. He remained composed as he closed with a final round 73 to secure his five-shot victory. Alvarez’s closest threat was Oscar Hernandez, whose two rounds of 73 claimed the Under 18 category by four shots.

Faldo Series Asia heads to the Himalayas


Kathmandu (December 4): Gokarna Forest Resort is the venue for the third edition of the Faldo Series Nepal Championship this week.

The 14th leg of the record-breaking Faldo Series Asia season, the event will showcase the brightest young golfing talents from the South Asian nation that is located in the Himalayas and bordered to the north by China and to the south, east and west by India.

Faldo Series breaks new ground in Colombia


27 November 2014: Sir Nick Faldo has announced an expansion of his golf development efforts in South America with the launch of a new Faldo Series tournament in Colombia.  The inaugural Faldo Series Colombia Championship tees off at Club Campestre la Sabana, Cundinamarca on November 29-30. The event will create new opportunities for young golfers in the country and the five age category winners will play in the Faldo Series South America Championship in Brazil.

Jurong Joy for Toh in Faldo Series Singapore Championship


Singapore (November 22): National squad member Lucius Toh produced a gutsy comeback to retain his title in the Faldo Series Singapore Championship.

Faldo Series India Champion Madappa sets Mission Hills target


Bombay, India (November 11): Viraj Madappa is hoping it’s a case of third time lucky after racing to a runaway victory in the Faldo Series India Championship for Boys. 

Underlining his outstanding potential, the 16-year-old compiled a four-round aggregate of 15-under-par 265 at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club, the 11th leg of the 2014-15 Faldo Series Asia.

That meant he finished no fewer than 13 strokes ahead of his closest challenger, Shubham Narain, winner of the Under-16 category. Remarkably, the winning margin was the same as Madappa enjoyed last year.

Shino shines brightly at Faldo Series Japan Championship

Zach Bauchou of the USA edges Simon Zach in a play-off to capture Faldo Series title


24 October 2014: Zachary Bauchou from Forest, Virginia edged out Simon Zach (Czech Republic) in a dramatic sudden death play-off to win the eighteenth Faldo Series Grand Final at The Greenbrier in West Virginia, USA. Bauchou birdied the 18th to force a play-off with Zach and then clinched the title with a tap-in par putt on the first extra hole.

Reigning Champion Megan Khang (Rockland, Massachusetts), who competed in her second U.S. Women’s Open earlier in the year made it a double success for the U.S. by retaining the Girls’ Overall title.

George Arthur Faldo


George Arthur Faldo, father of golf's six-time Major Champion and former World #1,  Sir Nick Faldo passed away today of natural causes.

He was born on May 11, 1926 in Poplar, London to Charlie and Harriet Faldo.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joyce Smalley Faldo; his son, Nicholas Alexander Faldo; his sister, Dolly Faldo Slywockji; his grandchildren, Natalie, Matthew, Georgia and Emma Faldo and his extended family and friends Gill Faldo, Valerie Faldo, Diana and Daniel Desmond; Linda and Del Bingley and LeslieAnne Wade.

22 August 2014: Czech Republic’s Patrik Jericha celebrated victory in the final European event of the 2014 season with two level-par rounds of 72 at the Black Stork Golf Resort, a PGA golf course in Velka Lomnica.  The 19-year-old, who has also played Faldo Series events in Czech Republic and Austria this year beat Slovakian pair Adam Puchmelter and Jan Friesz to the title after the event was reduced to 36 holes due to flooding.

21 August 2014: Jamie Bower of Meltham fired a superb final round 66 to complete an emphatic wire-to-wire victory in the Faldo Series England Midlands Championship at Hollinwell Golf Club. Timo tames Faldo course to seal Series victory in Germany


14 August 2014: Timo Valenkamp was victorious in the fitfh Faldo Series Germany Championship at the A-ROSA Scharmützelsee Sporting Club Berlin in Bad Saarow. The 16-year-old fired rounds of 72 and 67 on the Faldo Course to finish on five-under par, three clear of the chasing pack.

“It is a great honour to win this event and I am very excited about going to The Greenbrier in October, it will be my first ever trip to the USA,” said Valenkamp. “I want to learn as much as I can from Sir Nick and all the other experts and make the most of this opportunity to improve my game.”

Roos rallies to win Faldo Series Netherlands title


29 July 2014: Roos Haarman rallied to win the fifth Faldo Series Netherlands Championship, birdieing her final hole for a one stroke victory over 2013 Champion Severiano Prins. 16-year-old Haarman closed with a three under-par 69 at BurgGolf Herkenbosch to seal her spot in a third straight Grand Final.

Prins, who took a two shot lead in to the final round, finished with a level-par 72. That meant the 19-year-old was denied another overall title but he still booked a spot in his third Grand Final by winning the Boys-Under-21 division.

30 June 2014: Slovakia’s Jakub Hrinda booked his spot in a third straight Grand Final with victory in the second Faldo Series Italy Championship at Golf Club Toscana, Tuscany. Hrinda ground out a three shot victory with rounds of 70 and 71 to set up a return to The Greenbrier in October.

27 June 2014: Andrew Davidson of Charleton won the Faldo Series Scotland Championship by two shots to secure a spot in his second successive Grand Final. The 20-year-old closed with a one-over par round of 71 to win by two from overnight co-leaders Niall Mcmullen (Lundin) and Calum Fyfe (Cawder).

20 May 2014: Rohan Boettcher shot a final round 72 to complete a wire-to-wire victory in the seventh Faldo Series South America Championship at Belem Novo Golf Club in Brazil.  The 15-year-old Brazilian will now have the chance to compete in a PGA Tour Latino America event later this year.

Boettcher also secured a spot in the 18th Faldo Series Grand Final alongside compatriots Herik Machado (Boys’ Under-18) and Carolina Yamada (Girls’ Under-21). The Brazilian trio will all make their Grand Final debuts at The Greenbrier in October.

24 April 2014: Jamie Dick of Forest Hills shot a final round 69 to complete a wire-to-wire victory in the Faldo Series Wales Championship at Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club in Bridgend. The 18-year-old equalled the course record of 66 in each of his first two rounds on route to a dominant thirteen shot win.

Brewster bags Faldo Series title at Moortown


10 April 2014: Ben Brewster of Bawtry won the Faldo Series England North Championship with a playoff victory over Hexam’s Matty Lamb at Moortown Golf Club in Yorkshire. Brewster and Lamb could not be separated after 54 holes of regulation play, both finishing at five-over par on 218 before Brewster birdied the first extra hole to capture the overall title.

Collins conquers record field in Ireland


3 April 2014: Ted Collins won the seventh Faldo Series Ireland Championship by four shots after rounds of 70 and 71 at Lough Erne Resort in Northern Ireland.  Collins from Dun Laoghaire beat 154 competitors to the title, the largest ever field for the event.

“This is my fifth Faldo Series and I have been so close a couple times before so it feels great to finally win,” said a delighted Collins. “This was the perfect way to start my season and going to The Greenbrier in October and meeting Sir Nick will be a great way to end it.”

24 March 2014: Sana Tufail overcame a record field in Abu Dhabi to win the second Faldo Series Middle East Championship at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club (AESGC). The 17-year-old from England charged to victory with a superb bogey-free 64 on the final day.

“This is a great victory for me and I am really looking forward to The Greenbrier now,” said Tufail who will join Sir Nick Faldo at the 18th Faldo Series Grand Final in October. “I had a putting lesson with Keith Wood last night which made a big difference to my performance on the greens today.”

Faldo continues global effort to grow golf announcing European schedule for Faldo Series


19 March 2014: Sir Nick Faldo has announced a 2014 Faldo Series Europe schedule that features 17 events in 15 countries, including a new tournament in Poland. Five age categories winners from each event will qualify for the 18th Faldo Series Grand Final, a World Amateur Golf Ranking event hosted by the six-time Major Champion at The Greenbrier in West Virginia, USA.

Faldo Series Asia glory for Japan’s Horikawa


13 March 2014, Shenzhen, China: Mikumu Horikawa of Japan stormed to victory in the eighth Faldo Series Asia Grand Final at Mission Hills Golf Club in China. The 21-year-old from Kanagawa fired a superb final round 68 on the Faldo Course to win by three shots and follow in the footsteps of compatriot Masamichi Ito who won the title in 2010 and 2012.

Kinnear of England eyes historic victory in China


12 March 2014, Shenzhen, China: Paul Kinnear of England will take a two shot lead into the final round of the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final. 20-year-old Kinnear from Lancashire goes into tomorrow’s final round at Mission Hills Golf Club bidding to become the first European to be crowned Faldo Series Asia Champion.

Kinnear carded a second round 71 on the Faldo Course to reach seven-under par for the tournament. Two shots behind is Japan’s Mikumu Horikawa who posted a three-under par 69, the joint best score of the day.

England and America head global Faldo field in China


11 March 2014, Shenzhen, China: Paul Kinnear fired a stunning 66 to take a first-round lead in the eighth Faldo Series Asia Grand Final at Mission Hills Golf Club in China.  The 20-year-old from England is three ahead of American Zachary Bauchou who went round in three-under par despite missing the practice day and never having stepped on the course prior to the competition.

Faldo welcomes global field to Mission Hills, China


10 March 2014: A global field of 81 golfers from 19 countries joined Sir Nick Faldo in Mission Hills, China today for the eighth Faldo Series Asia Grand Final which tees off tomorrow.

Putt takes Faldo Series Thailand Title


5 February 2014: Putt Sridama of Thailand won the sixth Faldo Series Thailand Championship by three shots at the Panorama Golf and Country Club in Nakhon Ratchasima. Sridama fired rounds of 70 and 69 to claim one of the remaining five Grand Final spots that were on offer.

Ahmad completes Faldo Series hat-trick in Pakistan


31 January 2014: Mubariz Ahmad won his third Faldo Series Pakistan Championship with a fourteen-shot victory at Defence Authority Country and Golf Club in Karachi.  The 18-year-old was one of four Pakistani golfers to qualify for the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final in China.  

Karachi local Ahmad carded rounds of 72, 73 and 77 to finish an incredible fourteen shots ahead of Boys’ Under-21 winner Muhammad Umer Khokhar.  Ahmad and Khokhar qualify for the eighth Asia Grand Final which Sir Nick Faldo will host at Mission Hills Golf Club in China, March 11-13.

Eagle at 18 gives Yuan Faldo Series Kunming victory


30 January 2013: Yuan Hung Tsai eagled the last to win the seventh Faldo Series Kunming Championship in style at Lakeview Golf Club in Yunnan Province, China.  18-year-old Yuan was one of five competitors to qualify for the Asia Grand Final in March.

Yuan added a 72 to his opening 73 on the Faldo Design course in Kunming to win by four from 14-year-old Xiang Sui, who won a competitive girls’ division.  The Chinese pair both earned a start in the eighth Asia Grand Final, to be hosted by Sir Nick Faldo at Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen in March.

Tamardi trounces Faldo Series field in Jakarta


22 January 2014: Tirto Tamardi fired a closing 70 to secure a dominant victory in the seventh Faldo Series Indonesia Championship at the Damai Indah Golf BSD Course in West Java. 14-year-old Tamardi was one of five golfers to qualify for the Asia Grand Final in March.

Tamardi added a 70 to a superb opening round 63, which included nine birdies and no dropped shots to win by seven from Kevin Akbar.  Tamardi’s 54-hole total of 13-under 203 is the lowest score in relation to par this Faldo Series Asia season.
